The Cerebral Palsy (CP) Clinic operates on the premises of Red Cross Children’s Hospital and provides therapeutic occupational, speech and physiotherapy to CP patients at the hospital. On average approximately 300 therapy sessions are provided every month.
The Clinic also runs an Outreach Programme for Therapists at District Hospitals and Community Health Facilities as well as for Carers at Special Day and Residential Care Centres.
Therapists are also present at Mowbray Maternity Hospital at a High Risk Clinic to assess children who are may present with CP following a difficult birth. The early identification and intervention of children with CP assists with enhancing their functioning.
