The Western Cape Cerebral Palsy Association is extremely grateful to The Australian High Commission Direct Aid Program and The Rolf Stephan Nussbaum Foundation for sponsorship of The Assistive Buddies Project
The Assistive Buddies Project was launched in 2018 out of a need to provide affordable assistive devices to people with disabilities in order to increase their independence in daily tasks.
The woodwork department at The Village Work Centre has approximately 20 adults with varying disabilities manufacturing the low-cost devices in a protective environment. The Assistive Buddies include wheelchair related devices, bathroom and kitchen devices as well as adult and paediatric therapeutic resources.
Individuals with various conditions or injuries such as Cerebral Palsy, Strokes, Arthritis, wheelchair users, arm injuries, joint replacements, back injuries, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease may benefit from these Assistive Buddies.
If you or someone you know has a need for any of the devices please contact:
