Without access to intervention services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, children with Cerebral Palsy will become more disabled as they get older. Children who have access to these intervention services have the potential to improve their condition and have the possibility of doing more for themselves.
Our CP Clinic situated at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for Children with Cerebral Palsy. In order to assist parents at home we are looking for donations of baby car seats and prams in good condition.
Car seats will help provide the children with stability and also helps the parents to have a safe place to keep the child as they don’t all have the space for the buggies which are quite bulky.
The prams will also be helpful in helping to position the children while they waiting for their buggies to be issued by the hospital and will also assist in making transporting of the child easier as many families travel by public transport which is not buggy friendly.
